legionella risk assessments

We are a Legionella consultancy business that specialises in the production of Legionella Risk Assessments direct to customer or via a third party. We have vast experience performing a plethora of differing types of sites & water systems including; commercial properties, educational institutes, residential care homes, industrial premises, dentistry, doctor surgeries and residential properties. Due to how our business has been built, we are completely IMPARTIAL and will only recommend remedial actions when absolutely necessary. We DO NOT carry out remedial actions and have no vested interest in this area. We are able to complete on either our own bespoke document or any other format as required, and always aim to have completed the survey aspect and formal report within 7 days of attendance.

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Approved Code of Practice L8 and HSE Guidance HSG274, which identifies that business owners and managers (referred to as 'the Dutyholder') MUST;

• Identify and assess the sources of risk of Legionella within the premises.

• Prepare a Written Scheme.

• Implement, manage and monitor the precautions outlined within the Written Scheme.

• Keep monitoring and inspection records.

• Appoint a competent person to manage legionella control.

Legionella Risk Assessment

Ongoing Control Measures

Once the legionella risk has been ascertained and evaluated for a site, it is highly likely ongoing control tasks will have been recommended. At Legionella Solutions North East, we have the ability to instigate the control tasks at the frequencies determined within the Legionella Risk Assessment on behalf of our clients, ensuring continued compliance. A monitoring plan and suitable means of recording task completion can be produced and provided to the customer.

Water Sampling

We are able to provide a legionella and bacterial sampling service to our client base, whether it be verification sampling (post disinfection), routine sampling or one off sampling, we will assess your requirements and implement an agreed plan as to where, what, when and why the samples are to be taken. All our sampling is analysed via an independent UKAS accredited laboratory, from which full certification will be provided once the sampling results have been interpreted.

Further Assessment & Review

After the initial legionella risk assessment is carried out and the Written Scheme implemented, there is a requirement to review the risk assessment whenever any major change to the hot and cold water system is made (such as the installation of a new boiler, or the addition of a new bathroom), change of occupancy or whenever there are significant personnel changes within the business which may affect the continuity of the measures in place for legionella control (ideally every 2 years).

We can review the risk assessment to suit your requirements and ensure your premises remain fully compliant all times.
